This site contains information on acquiring prayer wheels and the microfilmed mantras to be wound inside them. Table top prayer wheels are made from brass, copper or stone- such as marble or onyx. (We are trying to get away from wood to help set a precedent so less trees will be cut down in the future.) We have Om Mani Padme Hum mantras, the 7-Line prayer of Padmasambhava, the Medicine Buddha mantra and the Green Tara mantra -Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaha. All on microfilm! Why microfilm? Because according to the lineage text on prayer wheels the more mantras that are wound inside - then the more powerful the prayer wheel. The reason that microfilm is the best technology is because it reduces the written mantra with clarity-retaining the integrity of the script. And according to the lineage text - the mantras inside a prayer wheel "must face outwards" and microfilm is the best technology that follows these guidelines set by enlightened beings. Constructing Large Prayer Wheels

In 1992 Lama Zopa Rinpoche asked me to design and build a large prayer wheel at Land of Medicine Buddha in Soquel, California using mantras on microfilm taken from an original written by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Two years later along with a team of kind helpers the Upper Prayer Wheel was filled and consecrated (See Consecration text and photo click on Benefits sidebar). After this Rinpoche asked me to design and build a another prayer wheel now called the Pagoda Prayer Wheel. (See photos below) The Pagoda Prayer Wheel is solid microfilm inside and contains over 64 billion Om Mani Padme Hum mantras. Subsequently I received commissions to build smaller prayer wheels for Dharma centers in Taiwan and Singapore and for the front of the Joseph Campbell Library at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria, California (next to Santa Barbara). Over the years I have filled many prayer wheels and am happy to offer my services internationally (and interdimensionally if that comes into play.) - Jim McCann

Jim works on the 64 billion mantra pagoda prayer wheel at Land of Medicine Buddha in Soquel, California. Using only microfilm this prayer wheel is one of the most powerful on the planet.	The Pagoda Prayer Wheel at Land of Medicine Buddha. It Contains 64 billion mantras. The arches are bent redwood a technique that I learned from apprenticing Czech Cathedral builders.
